I notice that in many fill in the blanks and even CR, the choices that are presented to me or the text, or the text, have some vocabulary words that I do not know. For example, one of the CR answer choices was: ebullient, diffident, sanguine, surly, and wry. I do not know what any of those mean. Am I in trouble?

In this case, should I just ALWAYS look up words that I do not know the definition to? From my past experience, I need to encounter or use the word many times before it becomes engraved in my mind. Should I treat these words as flashcard words and study them? I encounter new words everywhere I go in the SATs.. What do you think I should do? 1 word definition can make a difference but there are millions to study from.

How much time do you have till you take the SAT? If it is more than a month I would def. suggest memorizing vocab because the vocab on the CR reading sections is a tough one. If you are aiming at a high score, then you should def. somehow try to improve your vocab. Now this can be done by memorizing words with flashcards or you can read books and look up the words you don't know and somehow keep track of those. I would personally recommend both of them if you have the time because they go together quite well.

Take a look at the threads from last fall. I know there was a valuable one that listed the 100 most common vocab words used on the SATs, or something like that.
