How important is the SAT writing for engineering students?

<p>I got 800 on the CR and Math sections, but got a 700 on the writing, I was wondering how important the writing section of the SAT is for college admissions officers in general and specifically for students with majors in engineering? I read in a few places that it isn't that important as the other sections, is that true?</p>

I forgot to mention that I’m an international student, so will that change the importance given to the Writing section ?</p>

<p>It wouldn’t matter with your scores since everything is high. Importance of writing section generally (not just engineering) ranges from having importance to not being considered at all depending on college so it varies greatly among colleges, although you can assume that the math section will be considered more important than the others for engineering</p>

<p>SAT writing matters very little for any app. to a competitive school - engineering or otherwise. Your scores are great. You will do well. Rock on!</p>

<p>Hmm, I was under than impression only ! but recently I read some article on collegeboard according to which SAT writing is a very accurate predictor of success in college ! so that confused me ! anyway, could you chance me for JHU BME ED?
