How important will freshman year grades be when I am applying for college?

Hi everyone, this is something that’s been bothering me for a long time that I haven’t been able to get help for with my guidance counselor, but I was wondering how much my less than stellar freshman grades will bring me down when I am applying for college. I have some in mind, such as safeties, Northeastern, BU, Boston College, Tufts,

I was dealing with massive hardships in my freshman year at home, which easily was the worst time period of my life and thus my grades were less than stellar and my GPA a lot lower than where I would’ve liked it. Fortunately, I’ve managed to do amazing in my sophomore year and am incredibly happy as of right now with my life in general, but I am still concerned about the blemish of my freshman year.

Freshman Year Grades:
Honors Geometry:89
Honors Bio:88
Honors French:92
Honors History:92
Honors English:94
Comp sci A:91(half class)
Comp Sci B:97(half class)
As you can see not the best but not too bad either. I took every honors class available and nearly got As in most of them, but my gpa still ended up being a 3.71 uw and 3.88 weighted

Now comes my pride, Soph year:
Honors Alg 2: 94
Honors English: 94
Honors History:94
Honors Chem:92
Honors: French 97
Honors Java: 96
AP Stats: 91
Grades improved a lot, because of my situation at home got better and I was able to get over some people who I was grieving for in freshman year. GPA was like a 3.97 uw and 4.2 w with little stress(this is top 5 percent of my class)

As you can see my grades had a massive spike, but my freshman year’s 3.88 is going to dip everything I had done in high school. I am confident for Junior year because I thoroughly have learned to enjoy school and have leadership in all my extracurriculars next year, which will be fun.

But the big question at the end of the day is, would my freshman year grades impact my grade drastically at college admissions?

Most colleges will look at freshman grades but discount them given your improvement in sophomore and junior year.

Maybe just the way you phrased this but I hope that you do not consider any of those schools as safeties, they are not.

Oh no, those aren’t safeties, my bad on the phrasing. Thanks for the answser!
