Too early to BUMP?

For Cornell, you have all the right stats but it is really about your portfolio and the interview. I would take a look at Northeastern in Boston as a backup - their experiential program is outstanding and 95% of the graduates are working or in grad school within 9 mo of graduation…and with your stats, you would definitely get merit $…they often use sites in Boston as part of their studio work and their study abroad is in Berlin or China for the arch kids. Good luck…

Thanks momofboston. I’ll definitely check out NorthEastern :)

It depends on your portfolio. How would you evaluate your art skills? Would you sau you are as competent in art as the average applicant applying to art schools just as selective?

@Timkerdes
I don’t have an extra ordinary background in art. But my foundation is pretty solid, so there are a lot perspective sketches and paintings. There are a few experimental pieces.

Anyone else?

I dont know how it works for Cornell in particular, but Architecture is a lot like art in that the portfolio of work is the most important aspect of your application. Remember, an Architect is principally a designer-artist that applies his abilities to inhabitable space in the same way that a fashion designer is an artist that applies his abilities to apparel. Schools look for people with solid foundation in art and design or at the very least people with that kind of potential.

include a video of you acting… or of your hands while playing an instrument…

timkerdes, you are right. it really comes down to how strong your portfolio is.

Hii guys, thanks for your responses :)

My portfolio is very creative shows a number of techniques. It’s not too “Architectural” though, I don’t know how much that’ll hurt.
I have done some still life but with interesting concepts. Also, I have included a model.There are about 16-17 pieces.
How does that sound?
