How is GPA calculated for repeated courses?

Well, I go to CC and took the finite math course 3times. Grades are A, F, C.

And yes, I got an A at the 1st time, but repeated only to get lower grades. The story behind begins from the fact that I went to two different colleges and you probably dont want to hear the winding, boring stroy of mine.

When I talked to UC representatives for "undergrad transfer admission," they said whatever the letter grade I got above D for the first time is the grade they count while USC representative siad they will average out any repeated courses.

So, for the "Law School admission," how would univs calculate my GPA regarding repeating the same course?

I would be curious as to why you would be so dumb---no offense---to repeat a class in which you got an A? I actually do want to hear this story.

Also, with all due respect, how do you fail Finite Math? Isn't that like addition and subtraction?

Anyways, I guess it depends on the school you're applying to. Then again, I'm only a potential applicant so take it for what it's worth.

The rules are on LSAC.org Homepage. Read the official explanation at pages 25-26:

I had a little trouble finding the relevant piece on the pdf. Bottom line is that unlike many undergrad institutions, LSAC does not erase grades.

Thanks all for the replies. To the question of reason for repeating the course I got an A already, basically at the time, I got mad with my parents and tried to **** them off. Talking about stupidity...:b
