How is maryland (UMD) viewed as an engineering school?

<p>I was just recently accepted into the University of Maryland's Honors college program and I'm majoring in Computer Engineering. I've noticed that UMD is ranked highly on the US News engineering school ranks, even high than some ivies. What I'm wondering is if that holds true. I have yet to visit and gather more information but I figured I'd come here first. How would UMD rank next to a school like WPI or RPI for engineering? (consider co-ops/internships, avg starting salary, job placement, difficulty of classes) </p>

<p>If anyone can offer any insight itd be great. Ive been accepted into WPI, Pitt, Rutgers, and Northeastern if that adds any help. </p>

<p>I just want to make sure im not going to lose any opportunities by not going to a tech college</p>

U Maryland is a great engineering school and the best on the list you mentioned easily, though the other places on there aren’t slouches either.</p>
