how is REA in general?

hi guys....
i am a slacker, but i have the ability to cram a lot in a short-time. (like within two weeks)...
i bought REA for ap us, and it looks good because it has 6 practice tests.
I think the REAs are extremely good for their practice tests, but none of my friends has heard about REA...
so can any give me any suggestion about using REA as review book?
I think it's really nice to use REA for their practice tests, and use another review book to study. is that right?
thanx!

I bought REA for World History last year, but ended up getting ****ed at it (don't remember why-- I think it's because they kept asking me the scientific names of early hominid species on practice tests). I switched to Princeton Review and still got a 5.

It can't hurt to get the extra practice, but if the APUSH book is like the WHAP book, it may be more detail-oriented that the actual test. I guess overpreparing can be beneficial, though.

My teacher recommended REA for biology, but probably only because it includes 6 practice tests. The information in the book is very condensed and has parts missing.

I heard that REA is good. It's highly recommended. Also, it's considered the top, if not the 2nd, with the first being AMSCO, which is like 600+ pages so yeah... REA. haha

does REA use real AP questions???

i hate rea. i used it for the sat bio & i just took it today. rea sucks !#$#$%^$. nothing like the real exam. & the info is all - kinda messed up like barrons. i also used it for ap bio b/c it has a lot of practice tests, but the tests have random crap that has nothing to do w/bio.

i looked at the ap art history book & it also looked confusing. id go w/cliffs. barrons is ok......................if you know your stuff well enough. there are typos - watch out.

REA is better for US History though... second to Amsco for that subject.

amsco is #1

i am reading amsco now. lol
and a nice guy give me all the MC answer in that book.
Currently, I am on Chapter 14.
And I will finish the rest (up to chapter 30) by the end of today.
woo!!!!

dang some of the MC is specific, one real test question asked about Hoovers economic policy, and the answer was he expected charity to help the poor out for the most part....

thats like 5 words on page 496 of amsco......

zbn - when u read it to u tend to remember most of the stuff? because if i had to read 15 chapters by the end of today i would probably not remember 50% or more

are you serious?????? that question is crazy. who the heck can know that?
lol, thorps517. I forget to say that I already read AMSCO twice, REA once, and textbook at least twice, but I am a foreigner (hope you are not a nativism. lol) and I don't even know who is Reagon before learning the AP.
And I am just doing all the MC now since my friend gives me the answer key for that book.
btw, thorps517, thank you so much for the help!!!
