Sorry, I know little about engineering at Syracuse. We investigated their visual arts programs. However, I can't imagine anything being bad at Syracuse.

free bags and pens?

yup. and a planner. and sometimes in the student office they have free BAKED GOODS. meaning cookies! i havent went in there yet tho.

great. thanks. anyone on the engineering?

i dont know exact rankings, but i do have a few friends at SU engineering and here's my summary...

its engineering school appears to have the rep of the university in general. It's not up there with the highly prestigious programs of the ivies and others like MIT and Stanford (to be fair, no other programs really are up to that level anyways), but it's certainly better than the majority of engineering programs out there. It's a solid degree that although isn't ultra-prestigious, it benefits from the large Syracuse alumni network that often stems into NYC and other northeast cities in particular. My ex-boss went to URochetser for undergrad and then Syracuse engineering for grad, and although he though Rochester's program was stronger, Syracuse had a more widely known name that he could take advantage of. I would recommend an engineering program like Syracuse's for a student isn't 110% sold on engineering. Worst comes to worst, they're not stuck at a tech school with little options, they can easily change majors within the university.

Thanks gomestar, I'm not hung up on rankings (ie, US NEWS), but I do like to hear what the community opinion is of a particular school and the name recognition in the industry.
