I am so excited to be accepted to UVa considering it has been a dream reach for me, but I was wondering, what is the Biology/Science Department like at UVa? How would a student interested in Neuroscience fare there?

Biology is a very broad department, and being the most rapidly growing in the college, so some courses have become quite large and crowded. There is a large and vibrant group of Neuroscientists in the department, more in psychology, and some in the medical school as well. The latter do not really contribute to teaching, but they add to the environment. There is a small selective Neuroscience major, but you can just major in BIOL and take a spate of neuroscience courses.
