My dream is to get a Ph.D degree in a top university.
So I wonder what are the graduates major in math going?
Are there many students going to earn a higher degree in such schools as MIT,Princeton,Harvard?

Physics too.. Can go to Mit, caltech after physics undergrad at Hamilton? I want to double major in math and physics and get into grad school in either of the two..

Yeah,I am in the same situation as jhl.
I want to double major in both math and physics too.

Any response? From the hamilton site, i know of one or 2 who got into Mit physics after hamilton.. But that's not substantial enough to say that hamilton physics is strong..

The science departments are quite good and Hamilton has great facilities for them with a new "Science Center" built two years ago. Many, many '11ers are going the biology/chemistry/physics route.

But how about math?

Bump...so how is the math department?

bump again, please....

math is surprisingly strong at Hamilton

I'd say it's Hamilton's top or second best major

Out of all the faculty there, I can think of one bad teacher (maybe 2). Even then it's more of a personality thing, less of a qualifications/ability to teach thing.

Take Lemasurier or Knop or Kelly or Kantrowicz. They're dope.

Glad to hear that math is strong at Hamilton as S2 has applied there and really likes it. It is a beautiful campus and would be a great place for him. Time will tell but I know he really likes it there.

in my orientation group, which had 12 kids, it seemed like well over half were interested in either math, science, or some sort of combo. i was surprised by how many kids were into the subject.
