I need your help! Can you tell me the reputation of San Francisco State U? I want to pursue MA in comparative literature. Thanks!

not good...
no offense. Outside of california SFstate holds no ground anywhere, and even in California, it is not very well regarded.

I mean i live in sacramento area and i am just stating my oppinion. But really no CSUs are well regarded for anything except for SDSU business, and Cal Poly SLO engineering. Thats just the way it is. They are all mostly mediocre colleges.

SJSU has a good engineering program. Many SJSU grads work in silicon valley. ;)

Cal poly SLO has a significant better engineering program

I know this isn’t the correct place to post this, but I don’t know where else to go.

I just decided on attending SFSU, and didn’t realize how severely impacted the housing system is. I just applied yesterday, and found out that the application has been out since October 1st! Yikes! Is there any chance that I could get on campus housing? I can’t go there if I have to live off-campus, considering I live in Southern California now.

Has anyone applied as late as me and gotten it? I am an incoming freshman and applied on 3/21/2012. Thank you so much!

I just got a housing license agreement on the 12th and just sent it yesterday, so partially might be in same situation as you in getting choices and options for housing late compared to others so I’ll see and you I’m guessing chances in a bit.

Its very unlikely you will get housing if you just applied/got your license agreement yesterday. Housing is very competitive here. They began sending our license agreements to freshman/transfer students in january/february and to returning students in about February and we have priority.
who knows. you may get lucky and get a spot but I wouldn’t put money on it. You may very well be waitlisted. I got waitlisted one year and was 21 I think and actually ended up getting housing. During the summer lots of people cancel their agreements because they decide to live off campus or transfer, etc. But if you are like #50+ I wouldn’t count on it.
Sorry.

I would call the housing office directly and ask them…
