<p>Is it pretty much understood that some / most / all universities will pick the best score from each of the 3 sections of the exam ( assuming a person takes the exam 2 times ) ? Do any schools still average the scores as I vaguely recall was possibly done years ago ? If the former case, I guess there is seemingly no "down-side" to taking the exam a second time. Thanks.

<p>Thanks memphis. My son did ( 2140 ) 760M, 670V, 710CR his first time; He took it over again last week feeling he could bump up the V score. As for the CR score, not sure how colleges deal with that. I think UVa, GW, possibly Cornell might be his top choices... Best of luck. MBJ</p>
