Is it better to live offcampus or on? I'm planning to share a condo with a friend who hopes to go to long beach. Will I miss out by not dorming?

Agh, I know I should wait until i actually find out if I'm rejected/admitted, but what am i supposed to do until March, the wait is killing me!!!!!!!!!!

To get the full college experience, it helps a lot to live on campus. But if you really want to live somewhere off campus, you could always compensate by joining clubs/sororities or frats/student government....etc.

A typical night is basically what you make of it here. There aren't always clubs and parties across the street. I just got back from the Irvine Spectrum. It did close at 10 but that doesn't mean Irvine has no social life. Please ignore hondaicivic. Normally, on weekends, people just hangout with their friends at someone's dorm or apartment. A lot of people go home for the weekend but all the people who aren't from around are still here.

live in the dorms!!! you will not regret one bit of it, you will meet 100x more ppl by living on campus with less effort. Your social life is what you make of it, if you are outgoing and enjoy parties and find similar friends in your hall, you will not have a problem finding a party every week. I dont think I've spent more than 2 weeks sober in @ uci hahaha =x

I think everyone should dorm, it's a great experience. Last year I dormed, but this year I'm commuting, and it's a drastic difference. It's harder (at least for me) to make friends in class since you're mostly just sitting there silently listening to the lecture, but in the dorms, it's impossible not to.
