Hey guys, been waitlisted on UCI and UCSD myself! I’ve been reading and refreshing both forums for about a week now. Looks like many of the freshman are getting off the waitlist and being accepted over at UCSD so I guess the rest of us have no choice but to sit tight and wait. UCI is definitely my number one school though and I’m working on an appeal as I wait.
I am waitlisted at Davis but was following this thread just to get another perspective.
From what I’m guessing, UC’s which implement waitlists are attempting to increase yield. Waitlisted applicants might be applicants who don’t seem like they would attend the college even if given the chance to.
Then there’s that budget crisis - but there doesn’t seem to be any source detailing the UC’s receiving funding just yet.
Anyways, the wait is killing everyone, including myself.
