chooseWHATEVERyouWANT@ufl.edu :) I chose a combination of my first name and last name, though, to make it resemble professionalism, not something liek Coolsk8r87@ufl.edu

It's the first letters of your first, middle, and last name, and then a random number and letter. That's what my username is actually (don't have a middle name) so it would be sv3a@virginia.edu. However they do let you use aliases, so I generally use that.

Ours is a bit confusing:

first four letters of last name + first and middle initials + year you matriculated@wfu.edu

lastname@wisc.edu

if taken... firstinitiallastname@wisc.edu

if taken... firstinitialmiddleinitiallastname@wisc.edu

if taken... firstinitialmiddleinitiallastname1@wisc.edu

if taken... firstinitialmiddleinitiallastname2@wisc.edu

I think you get the point. Since I'm the only person with my last name, I'm lucky enough to have the first one.

whatever@northwestern.edu

most ppl use firstinitial-lastname@northwestern.edu although ppl w/ shorter names (like me) sometimes use firstname-lastname@northwestern.edu

I have known people who have whateveryouwant@midway.uchicago.edu instead.

But the first seems to be what the majority has.

Actually, I will be going there next year. :)

Ours are:
[first, middle, last initials][random numbers]@[school acronym].edu

first initial
middle initial
first 4 letters of last name
@wm.edu

When I was at Pitt it was...

yourinitials#ofpeopleassignedwithyourinitialsbeforeyou@pitt.edu

For example...this new email numbering system started the year I started there...so I was

initials6@pitt.edu; I was the sixth person with my initials given an email addresses under this system

Before this system it was...

yourinitialsst#ofpeoplewith same@pitt.edu

the st stood for student

Here at UNC it is...

whateveryouchoose@email.unc.edu

However, some people have somehow changed it to...

whateveryouchoose@unc.edu

More people have the email.unc.edu domain though

Ours is normally first initial + last name/first 7 letters of last name@wellesley.edu. If you have a common last name, it would be something like jdoe4@wellesley.edu.

firstinitialLastname@mail.csuchico.edu

first3lettersoflastnamefirst5digitsofid@schoolname.edu
but you alias it to Firstname.Lastname@schoolname.edu

lastname.firstletteroffirstname@myschool.edu

hmm...im wondering why this person is asking though?

Because it's interesting to see the different types of formats used at different schools?

first initial + first 8 letters of last name @ ucsc . edu

if it's taken there's some variation including middle initials and the like.
my last name's 8 letters, so it works perfectly for me.

until the year before i started students got to chose their address, now you have to pay like $15 to get it changed from the default

i was wondering, do you get to keep the college email account after you graduate?
