-I have strong passion for computer science and computer programming.

Although University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign is my first choice, some other colleges I am considering are Purdue Univ., Univ. of Texas - Austin and Georgia Tech (chance of getting into this school is quite slim, though).

Thank you.

You seem like a strong applicant based on your credentials. Computer science is one of the most competitive majors today, and Illinois-Urbana-Champaign’s program is a very popular choice for above average students because many students use it as a safety because they know they will likely be rejected by some of the top computer science programs.

You have a fair shot in my opinion. Your GPA seems a bit strange to me since you have taken 7 AP courses and your weighted GPA is only .3 above your unweighted. Perhaps the college will recalculate it, and you will have a higher GPA (if your school calculated it, then it may be wrong, especially if you are at a big public school). The major downside of your application is definitely your GPA overall. It isn’t bad but it could definitely be better. Your SAT score is good! Don’t worry too much about your reading score… The majority of people think it is the hardest section.

Anyways, here are some other possible colleges offering computer science that range from low reaches to low matches/high safeties?:

University of Wisconsin-Madison
University of California (Santa Barbara)
University of Washington
University of Maryland-College Park
UMass Amherst
Penn State
Rutgers (New Brunswick)
Purdue
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
University of Texas (Austin)
University of Colorado-Boulder
Ohio State
Stony Brook (SUNY)

This is how I ranked them, but there is no correct order, although some are definitely more competitive than others (University of Washington has a supreme program).

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your reply. Oh, and for the GPA, since I am currently a junior and am toward the end of the school year, I calculated expected cumulative GPA (from freshman to junior years) I might get by the end of junior year. My GPA was poor in freshman and sophomore years, but grade shows strongly positive trend.

Anyway, thank you for spending time reading this post. Hope you have a great day!
