I’m not very familiar with the subject tests at all; I would either be taking us history, world history, bio, literature, or math I/II. I haven’t taken a history or bio recently. I just finished college algebra and last year I had pre cal. I’m not sure which subjects to take, but if I basically would be studying from scratch on the subjects besides math how much studying would it take to make 700+ on two others such as literature ush wh or bio? I’m asking bc I’m not sure if I should take it August 24th or October 5th, bc one of those months I’ll be studying for the regular SAT.
Basically, is August 25th-October 5th enough time or should I halt my studying for the regular SAT and study from now till August 25th and take the regular SAT in October?
Last year, I took math 2 and biology m. I studied for about a month before taking them. Got a 800 on math and 760 on Bio. This year, I took chem and us. Studied for a week for chem and a day for us. I haven’t gotten my scores back but I’m fairly sure I’d get at least 700 on chem and 500 on us lol.
I took bio like my freshman year and don’t remember much lol, if u don’t mind me asking, did u have much prior knowledge going into studying (like had u just had a class on it or smthn?) or was your score most all due to your studying? same question^ about chem? And was that month before math and bio like really strenuous studying, like it was your main focus, or how much did you study per day/week would u estimate?
Sorry for all the follow ups lol but ty for the reply
I took all my subject tests in June after taking the AP class for that subject. For Bio and chem, it didn’t really help much because there’s a lot more memorization involved, and the AP class is based on understanding, not memorization. I bought a review book for those. For math, it helps if you take it right when you finish algebra 2, and for US, the AP class really helped me.
For Bio, it wasn’t exactly strenuous studying, but I made a study plan for myself and would finish a chapter or two a day, and then take a practice test every 5 chapters or so to see where I was. No more than 30 min a day, and then an hour on the weekend when I was taking the practice test.
for math, I took it after I took precalc, so I didn’t really study for it, I just downloaded some.practice tests and did them once a week and review my answers. So about like two hours a week for 4 weeks.
Ok thank you so much! This gave me a good idea of what I need to do and helped a lot
You’re welcome I hope you do well!
