Hello!
I am auditioning for Tisch as an Acting major on Thursday and I would like to know how long the average wait time is for me to find out if I have been accepted.
Does anyone have any info on this?
THANKS FOR THE HELP!!

Last year, my son auditioned for Tisch on January 22. He got his “unofficial” notification of acceptance on March 19. I call this “unofficial”, since this was an email telling him to “keep the date open” for an accepted student’s day at NYU, which was the first weekend in April. There are other threads in this forum that talk about this process.

I don’t recall the exact date when he got his official notification, but it was much closer to the end of March. I think NYU officially will tell you that notifications go out on April 1, with studio assignments coming later in April. This is pretty typical for all RD canditates.

He chose to accept the offer from Tisch, and will start his second semester there next Monday. He’s in Atlantic.

Okay thanks for your help!
So, it does not matter when you audition? All decision letters for RD are sent at the same time?

Two items:

(a) Check out http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/theater-drama-majors/885302-nyu-tisch-acceptance.html?highlight=tisch+acceptance for related discussion on this topic.

(b) You’re correct, it does NOT matter when or where you audition, all the RD letters are sent at the same time.

Unless you auditioned/applied ED, yes, you have to wait until NYU has seen everyone and makes its decisions. Good luck!
