How long does the Rutgers essay have to be?

How long does the Rutgers essay have to be?

I know it says 4,000 characters limit, but that's almost double my longest essays for my other colleges.

It's my safety so I don't want to rewrite an essay for it (I might tweak them) or spend the effort in adding a lot of information, but I will do it if I have to. However, I kind of have other essays to do so...Is it horrible if my essay only has 2,000 characters?

(I copy+pasted it from the Rutgers forum)

when I applied i used like 3700, I dont think it really matters though, I heard Rutgers barely looks at the essay and only wants to see you can structure a sentance properly (words of my guidence counselor), so as long as it says something I think youre good

so it wouldn't hurt me in getting scholarships, etc.?

Scholarships and admission to the honors program requires an essay... but using one from another school's application should be fine.
