i wrote my essay, and its very long. 3792/3800 characters. its also 4 paragraphs. i was wondering if 4 paragraphs is okay or if it should be 5. my essay is pretty solid and i dont really want to change it, but if i have to i will.
thanks!

oh man. That’s long… like 8 pages!
Well, for my essay I’m just using the extended version of my common app. Thus it’s about 700-800 words. Lmao, I viewed it as the maximum. Meh…

Anyone else want to chime in?

haha, mine is 630 words, so its shorter than yours, its just so close to the limit

You are under the 3,800 character count, so I wouldn’t worry. There was a glitch in the system last year and it still might be there this year where it omits the line between paragraphs. You can upload it and take a look if all the words on are the page you are good to go. My son’s essay last year was 601 words and 3466 characters, and he is a happy Rutgers Freshman this year - Best of Luck!

Well the one I wrote was like 2? I believe it was around 2800 characters. I didn’t get in yet, but that’s fine. My essay was different though since I’m a transfer.

My essay was 3600 characters and 5 paragraphs. When I went to submit it, it turned into one giant paragraph. I applied as a transfer student for the spring semester and got in.

My essay is ~3000 characters and 4 paragraphs (even though the paragraph breaks don’t show when I submitted it)

Mine is about the same as moneymaster’s. I think as long as it isn’t under 2000 and you answer the question, you’re fine
