Just wondering how long LSU takes to holistically review an application that is not an auto admit? DS falls just short of LSU’s auto-admit stats but he applied anyway. We got an email four weeks ago stating they had everything and to keep checking the portal and email for a decision, but we haven’t heard anything yet. It’s the only school we haven’t heard from yet. Any idea how long it usually takes?
You should receive a decision by now, if not, just contact the admissions.
Admission Decisions came out for everybody today: December 14th, 2017 around 2:00pm PST.
I didn’t get a decision yet. Called last week and they said they had everything and that the admission committee was working through thousands of applications and that I would hear soon. I will call back today since it appears most people have heard by now.
My son has also not heard back yet and he applied in early August. Emails to his local admissions representative have not been answered and calls to admissions have not yielded much of a response. Since he heard from rest of his rolling schools in early to mid October, we are not sure what the hold up is, but it is frustrating. As of this morning, his portal still says ‘under review’.
@VaNcBorder We are in the same boat. I emailed my admissions counselor but never got a response. I called and was told that the admissions team is sorting through applications and we will know once they get to ours. We have heard from all of the other schools that were rolling admissions. LSU is one of our top choices so we are anxiously awaiting a decision. Our portal also reads “under review”.
@sbgal2011 I hope we both hear soon as it has been a lonnnnng wait! Good luck to you!!
@VaNcBorder Best of luck to you as well. Please post when you hear from them and I will do the same.
Is anyone else still waiting for an admission decision? DS applied in October and we still haven’t heard anything.
They contacted us wanting to “get to know us better”. We had to submit three short answer questions, letters of recommendation etc… They received everything last week and our status changed to under review. Anyone have any idea how long that takes?
We are still waiting for them to receive everything. I know it has all been sent but it hasn’t been acknowledged in the portal yet. Hopefully you will hear soon, please let me know. I’m hoping that since the application has already been reviewed once, it won’t takes so long the second time around. Good luck!
Has anyone heard anything from LSU since submitting mid-term grades? We are anxiously awaiting the decision. @wcarter @VaNcBorder
@sbgal2011, my son withdrew his application several weeks ago so he is not waiting on any decisions from LSU. He had already been accepted to other schools that he was more interested in attending so he did not think it necessary to keep his application in play. I will have my fingers crossed for you and your son that you hear good news soon!
Thanks for your well wishes and I’ll keep you posted. I understand that this is dragging on and my daughter is beginning to feel the same way. Good luck to your son, I know he’ll do well.
I think DS may have been accepted. While his portal still reads “under review”, there is now a link that allows us to pay an enrollment deposit.
If you don’t mind me asking where do you see that link? My son is also waiting to hear back from LSU and portal still says under review.
We still have not heard from LSU. DD is feeling discouraged.
I would also I would like to know where that link is
It’s at the very top of the portal page it also appears just below the admission status, which still says under review. Weird.
So on the very top of the portal it says “Application Status”. Directly below it says “Click Here to go to the Enrollment deposit”. Directly below that is the Biographical Information.
Then, further down, where it says Application Status: Your application is currently under review, directly below it, it says Enrollment Deposit: Click Here to pay enrollment deposit. When I click on it, it takes me to a page that says:
LSU requires all admitted first time freshmen students to indicate their intent to enroll by paying a $200 deposit. Students intending to enroll for fall semesters must pay the deposit no later than May 1. The $200 deposit will apply toward the student’s account balance when they enroll in the University. Students who request a refund of the enrollment deposit prior to May 1 will receive a 50% refund. After May 1, the enrollment deposit is non-refundable.
Then it allows me to pay with Online Check or Credit Card.
SO…I think he was accepted, yet he is still under review??? Odd. I will call tomorrow.
