I paid for my SAT test score reports today, November 26th. I have a December 1st deadline at one of the schools I am applying to. I heard it can take 1-4 weeks for the reports to arrive. I also heard that as long as the scores are postmarked before the deadline, it is acceptable. Do you know if it will be okay sending them at this time? Or should I go back to college board and pay for another score report but with rush shipping?

Which college are you talking about? Most with a Dec 1 application deadline accept scores that arrive well after that deadline, e.g. for UTexas scores can arrive as late as Dec 31 even though it has a Dec. 1 application deadline.

“Postmarked” has become a term that no longer has any real meaning in the realm of test score delivery. Likely college has electronic delivery, meaning it has an on-line account with CB into which CB places any scores, which constitutes delivery and thus nothing ever gets “postmarked.” How fast that happens depends on volume (how many people are ordering scores right now) and when CB gets to your order to complete the order. Probably it will be done by end of week but could go into next week. Ordering rush does not speed up the process by much and many colleges do not want rush ordered scores.

The school I am applying to is Boston University & I haven’t been able to find their exact policy yet, but perhaps I will call up admissions and ask. Thank you very much for the information- you have been a great help!
