<p>no, no word counts... write a reasonable amount... a page is always good, not too little, not too much, as long as you make it deep, you won't need too many words!!!!

<p>I couldn't believe UT didn't specify on last year's application when I applied. I emailed my regional rep and he told me that the essays should be single-spaced, one page.</p>
