UT Essays

How long are the essays supposed to be? Like word count wise

From what I’ve read it’s up to you. Longer doesn’t necessarily mean better, but you want more than 3 paragraphs in a page. Which ones are you doing?

On the applytexas website it says: If you are submitting your essay online, it must be no longer than 120 eighty-character lines of text (including spaces and blank lines).

I’m not quite sure how many words would fit into 120 eighty-character lines…

If all your words averaged 6 characters, that would be about 13 words per line. 120 lines is about a 1600 word essay.

This is the most it can be. I would try for less. Use Word to count the characters.

Thanks for that info lisiatc, very helpful.

Mine are all about 650…hope thats not too short. Also, can we do essay A, B, and C? I already have essays written up for the topics
