With all the classes that I am taking, as well as the extracurricular activities in which I am involved, I find it hard to study for the SAT on a regular basis. I still have about a year before I take the SAT my junior year, and I hope to greatly improve my score.

How much time should I set aside each day to practice? What should I focus on during this time? Finally, how can I motivate myself more to stick to a study plan?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

For the math I always recommend 10 to 20 minutes per day. You may want to read my article on the Correct Way to Prepare for SAT math. It should be posted on this forum - just do a search.

I also recommend that you create a 20 minute block of time in advance. For example, if you go to sleep at 10 PM, then you may want to make 9:30 your SAT time. Every single day at 9:30 you must practice a few SAT math problems. It doesn’t matter what time you choose, just choose it and stick to it every single day.

Thanks for your input. I will try to do as you suggested, since my math really does need some improvement. 10 to 20 minutes a day seems quite reasonable, and I guess studying a bit each day will add up over time.
