I took 4 ap exams this past year (eng lang,stats,psych,u.s. hist) and am scheduled to take 4 more this upcoming year (physicsB,chem, calcBC,eng lit). I don't plan to self study any AP's as of right now. But after college applications begin and I decide where I want to go, is there enough time to self study for some of the easier AP's in a few months in order to obtain a 4 or 5 and get credit? For those that self study and have no background in the subject, how long does it take to prepare for the exam? Thanks for the help, I really just want to focus on the AP's I will take during the school year, but if its not too much work to just add an easy one or so to knock off credit I'd be willing to do that

Absolutely. During the first semester of the year I had NO intention of doing self-studies, but around Febuary I flirted with the idea and I combed CC for advise and at the very last minute, I signed up for Comp. Gov and Human Geo. Then for about the remainging three months before the exams, I concentrated on Comp. gov and I studied a little bit here and there for Human Geo, but I really cracked down on the week before. I got 5's on both AP test just by using review books. I highly recommend it.

Yes, definitely. I got 5s on two AP exams this year that I self-studied for. A very motivated student could probably study for 4 or 5 easy tests in a month.

I self-studied for bio for little more than a month and got a 5, so it's possible.

And I've heard with Bio you need to memorize a lot. Was it hard?
