On average, how long does it take from the time a grad school and department recieve all your information to when you get an acceptance decision?

Usually they all go out at the same time unlike for undergrad. It may vary for discipline though...

I got most of mine for my MS applications around Spring Break time.

Does your discipline do interviews?

Many of the schools to which I'm applying (biology PhD) have interview dates after their first cut, and it seems that notifications for the interviews go out in late January/early February.

I didn't have any interviews when I applied first time around...I think that depends on discipline/school. I know people in biology that have interviews...so thats not uncommon...but in my field of geology I don't think they do interviews...guess I'll find out if I'm on the line at Wisconsin this year (3rd in nation for geology)!

Something I forgot! There's this website: Who Got In, where people post when they received their decisions. So if people who applied to your school and program post their notifications, then you'll have a better idea of what sort of time frame you're looking at.

I had forgotten about that site - thanks for the idea.
