Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what exactly does dual enrollment mean? I thought it was taking a class in college while in high school, but it doesn’t sound right in some of these posts. Thanks in advance.
Yes, dual enrollment means taking a college class at an actual college as a high school student.
@umcoe16 do colleges consider that in admissions? Is this better than taking APs then?
I am sure that successful completion of college courses is helpful in admissions.
12 total. 33 ACT. Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations in Dual Enrollment as a Junior
Soph - USH, Physics B, Calc BC
Junior - Env Sci, Lang, Span lang, Gov
Senior - Stats, Lit, Macro, Psych, Chem
Forgot to add to my earlier post Biology senior year for a total of 7.
I think a better way to look at it is what percentage of the AP/honors/advanced curriculum available did you complete.
I was accepted EA. I took 3 AP courses and didn’t submit any grades at the time of my application.
I was accepted with a 32 on the ACT. I’ve taken four AP classes (Euro, US, Bio, and lang) and I’m currently taking four (stats, lit, environmental science, and gov).
To all those who are scared about this, I got in this year.
I received a 30 on the ACT with a 27 in Math (GPA 3.99)
I took honors english, physics, chemistry, and economics
I attended a technical academy (public) for engineering and am currently working on the MATE ROV project
I took AP Lang and AP ENV science, two 5’s,
I had 9 Dual enrollment classes, including Calc 1-3 and am currently taking differential equations
I was accepted EA for Engineering. A high act is great, but community classes (Dual Enrollment) are better than AP classes for University of Michigan.
I have a 28 ACT and will have taken 5 AP classes by the time I graduate. I will have also taken 7 Dual enrollment classes, but the classes I’m taking are nothing compared to what @AverageJoe22 is taking. GPA: 4.0
9 APs out of 11 my school offers
9th - Gov’t
10th - World
11th - Lang, Calc AB, Physics C
12th - Lit, Bio, Psych, Stats
32 on ACT (35 English, 33 Reading, 31 Math, 28 Science, 10 Writing)
GPA - 3.81 (4.04)
Accepted into LSA in December
Hi, my S is OOS. He took 6 APs (including this year). They can only take starting Junior year. He had a 34 and was accepted in December. He has not committed yet, as he is waiting to hear from 5 other schools.
