How many AP classes do you think come out about evenly with an IB diploma, I was thinking somewhere around 7 or 8 in two years is equivalent, do you think it is somewhere around there?

In terms of college credit, it doesn’t break down like that (unfortunately). An IB student can take up to four Higher Level courses with exams in the senior year (but I think most take three), which is what colleges accept for credit. The Standard Level (exams taken junior year) courses often receive no credit at most institutions.

So if your goal is to get credit, I’d suggest you go with AP. Or a combination of AP and IB. In terms of courses alone, though, 7-8 APs would probably line up with the IBDP.

Though there are some colleges that give Sophomore standing if you earn the IB Diploma. That would be 8 courses right there!
