How many APs, What APs and When are you taking them?

You shouldn’t let your dad plan your schedule! Pick the classes you want to take :)

My APs:
Freshman: none offered
Sophomore: AP World
Junior: AP English, APUSH, AP Chem
Senior: AP English, AP Euro, AP Bio, AP Calc BC, AP Gov (one semester)

^That

I honestly think that 3 is a solid number. All of you that plan on taking 6+ per year are really confusing. Doesn’t that come off A’s being “Die Hard” academic. And I thought admissions didn’t like that. & will you have time for friends or EC’s? There are only so many hours in a day, and you need to devote some of them to sleeping

Frosh:
None

Sophomore:
AP World
AP Music Theory
AP Calculus BC

Junior:
AP Stats
AP Econ.
APUSH
AP Language
AP Psychology (online)

Senior:
AP Bio
AP Lit
AP Gov.
AP Euro
maybe AP Computer Science

I go to an IB school, but I’ve also self-studied for some somewhat analogous APs.

Freshman: human geography

Sophomore: world history

Junior: world history retake and English lit

Senior: (this upcoming year) considering art history or English lang but I have so many IB tests so maybe not

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

Freshman:
AP World History

Sophomore:
AP US History
AP European History

Junior:
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics
AP English Language
AP Biology
AP Calculus AB (maybe)
AP Psychology

Senior:
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus BC
AP English Literature
AP US Government
AP German Language

Sophomore: AP Human Geography(4) AP World History(4)

Junior: AP Computer Science A(5) AP Calculus AB(5) AP Physics B(3) AP English Lang(5)

Senior: AP US Government, AP Environmental Science, AP Statistics, AP Calculus BC(maybe).

I want to be a AP National Scholar this year, so I have to get 3 fours, and since I probably won’t have calc BC due to scheduling issues, I have to get fours on all of my exams o_0 luckily I know all three teachers and they are all awesome so I should have no problem. :)

Thank you all so much for your advice - recently I’ve just been trying to work my schedule to fit as many aps as possible in, but I now realize that that is stupid, thanks to you people.

And my friends tell me I’m a lunatic for taking four senior year.

Worrrrd. ^

Okay I went to get my schedule and when I told her I want AP Classes, she’s like you already have 2! That’s a lot to handle!

Ha. Haven’t told her I’m attempting to self study 3 more. She might faint.

I want to take all of those classes, but I’m just going to do 4 this year and see how it goes.I convinced one of my friends to take 2 AP classes, then my other friends 1, and then I think my biggest competition (for class rank) is taking 2 or 3

My son took 14 AP’s. Which was against my advice.

He was very overloaded at times.

Further, I don’t think it did him that much good in the college admissions process.

So I would say, no need to take a zillion AP classes.

Sophomore: AP Biology (5)
Junior: AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP English Language & Composition
Senior: AP Calculus AB, maybe AP English Literature & Composition (the college I want to go to gives the same credit for AP English Language & Composition and AP English Literature & Composition, so taking this class would be useless)

As you can see, I’m not taking that many AP classes throughout my high school career. Everyone needs some time to chill.

junior (last year):
AP Bio (3)
AP Stat (3)
AP Art History (unspeakable)

senior year:
AP Physics B
AP Psychology
AP French

Freshmen year (last year):
AP Human Geography

Sophomore year (not sure):
AP Physics B
AP Calc AB
AP Calc BC
AP Psych (probably not)

Junior year (future):
AP World
AP Earth and Environmental
AP English
AP Stat

Senior year (future):
AP English
AP Bio
APUSH
Maybe AP Euro or something

Maybe plus or minus a few but that’s basically the plan

Some of you guys are crazy, do you not plan on having lives outside of school?! Seriously if you’re considering top schools and your AP classes are dual enrollment ( where you get transfer credit) many of those aren’t transfer credits.

Anywayyyyys I took 2 my junior year and I’m taking 4 this year ( only 2 during the first semester and 3 the second. )

Junior year
APUSH
AP Spanish

Senior year
AP lit
AP economics & gov’t (don’t remember the fancy name)
AP psych

My school don’t have APs so am self studying them
Junior Year
-AP US History
-AP Government and Politics in the United States
-AP World History
-AP Human Geo

^^^ not sure what you’re getting at, but okay

Also I don’t know how my school compares to all the rest of highschools but AP classes are pretty normal for honor students (especially AP human, psych, us history, Calc, and world) . … I dont know if it’s because they aren’t as difficult or for some other reason. A few APs a year allows for a social life,

@Teaspoon, being that my school do not offer APs course the only way to do an AP is to self study and take the exam in June. So I just listed the ones am going to self study in.

Jeeze… This is my list:
