^
Yeah pretty much.

What’s BU? =D

Swarthmore (ED)
Carleton
Harvard
Macalester
Reed
Vassar
Yale

Our school just put in place a rule that limits the number of elite schools we can apply to. It’s ridiculous.

^ Why? So people don’t compete with others at the school too much? Wait, my theory doesn’t make sense (what if they apply to the same places). What places are considered ‘elite’?

Georgetown University

American University

George Washington University

Carnegie Mellon University

Penn State University

University of Pennsylvania

Temple University

Syracuse University

Northeastern University

Boston University

New York University

Columbia University

Rutgers University

RISD

Cooper Union

I never understood the point of having a big list of schools… you’re only going to end up at one!!

I’m applying to four schools.

Yeah, I think it’s basically to limit the number of people competing for the same spots, since it’s rare that a college will accept more than 1 or 2 people from the same school. And I think by “elite” they just mean…Ivies. Which is stupid, because there are some schools that are way more competitive than, say, Cornell.

I am applying to 8. 6-7 in the US and 1 in Canada/Hong Kong.

You do know that you can’t apply to both Oxford and Cambridge right?
You probably do, but in case you don’t,
You have to choose one… a lot of people don’t know that :)

That’s interesting. Why can’t you apply to both?

EDIT: I googled. There’s no clear explanation why they have this rule. However, from what I’ve read, international students CAN apply to both.
