I am a freshman currently signed up to take 12 credits in the fall. Is this too easy? I am coming in with almost 60 credits from AP/DE and almost all of my gen eds. I wanted to take 12 credits this semester so I can adjust to college life, and then take 15 in the spring, but most people I know are taking 15 credits this semester, so now I feel like my schedule is too easy.

Should I add another class?

Also, I plan on going to law school. Is difficulty of schedule a big factor in law school admissions?

Is taking that extra class this semester over next semester really going to impact your entire college career? Are you going to graduate earlier if you take 15 instead of 12? NO. So stop worrying about it. It’s not a big deal. Isn’t it better to be safe than sorry? Besides, I think there’s a drop/add week after classes start so if in the first few days you feel bored (which I doubt you will), you can always add that oh soo important extra class to give you 15 credits.
I suggest you take your first semester a tad easier so you can adjust and get a feel of UF’s difficulty/time demands/campus/social scene etc. You have 4 years to burn yourself out. 12 credits your first semester isn’t going to make or break you.

Given your plan to go to law school 12 seems fine. Law school basically only cares about numbers for the rankings. Any major you might get a bump for is going to make it much more difficult to get a high GPA and require a much greater time commitment. I would take easy-medium classes you’re interested in instead of a laundry list of the easiest because you may slack off if the class is really boring and worthless
