How Many ECs Should I Have?

I am in six clubs (community service, feminist club, environmental club, finance club, latin club, and I am an cartoonist for the Newspaper).

I do community service outside of school and some volunteer work.

I play on two Varsity sports (Field Hockey and Track and Field).

Should I be taking on more clubs or sports? Of course this is excluding my academics but I was curious if my ECs are sufficient for some of the “Little Ivies.”

There is no right number. And keep in mind that colleges favor depth of involvement over quantity of clubs.

I am the parent of 3 college grads & I second what @happy1 posted. ONLY do what YOU want to do!

The varsity sports can be listed as one. Are you a captain? Also, the cartoonist EC is interesting.
Conventional wisdom says you should list 7 out 10. Keep in mind you need to list them in the order of importance to you.

Maybe 12 or maybe it’s 21. I agree that you should join and participate in those that interest and are meaningful to you. Even if you are not a soloist in choir or captain of the team that won the stare championship, what inspires you and adds meaning to you as a person. I would be happier than you can say what is meaningful to you.

One or two quality ECs is better than a boatload of club memberships.

You are fine if you like what you are doing. Nice mix of activities, in my opinion.
