Hey, since everyone is so smart here did any1 get offered full rides at any schools? I got offered schloarship $, but never more than $12,000 cuz of my low sat scores. Congratulations to those of you who did! :)

I got almost all full rides to Tufts, Northeastern, and BU last year. Chose NEU on the strength of its engineering and Co-op program.

kidley what r ur stats?

were they merit-based or need-based? I thought Tufts didn't give out merit based aid, or at least thats the impression I got when I visited.

Just got a fullride to Montclair State in NJ (biggest university in NJ). It's respectable (not harvard obviously, but that's money I could invest, save for my mom and me, save for grad school) so I'm gonna look into it.

can u tell me what is fullride?
kiddly, how do you find NEU? I'm applying this year. My stats are quite good but I need lot of FA and I'm an int'l, so I'm not sure of my chance.

tufts has no merit based aid, but they may weight need based aid heavier on grants for stronger students

A fullride is when the college offers to pay your full tuition- mostly for atheltes, and really strong applicants.

University of Alabama and a couple other schools offered me full rides plus spending money and other perks assuming i get National Merit Finalist... i find out in Feb.

around here, full ride means just that - ALL your expenses are paid, including tuition, room and board and possibly a small stipend.

University of Alabama, Furman, and Georgetown/George Washington (contingent on that I get in). Furman and Georgetown are Army ROTC/Marine Corps ROTC respectively. I can use the Marine Corps ROTC scholarship for almost any school I want.

UofA (university of arizona gave me a full ride and several thousand dollars a year and not including final "scholarships"...)...too bad I am not going there.

Cal Poly gave me full ride (tuition, housing, books) plus a stipend and exclusive access to their VIP lounge LOL...too bad I'm not going there.

I doubt Kiddly is telling the truth, since Tufts never gives "full rides" based off of academic prowess. In addition, I believe he's a recent grad from Northeastern. He attacks Tufts incessantly, and obsesses over the Northeastern Co-op program. If you don't believe me, refer to his other pseudonyms (alan5 and aragon5), it's too much of a coincidence to consider that they are actually different people, rhetoric and subject matter n' all.

I got offered a fullride to Monclair State (NJ). Did I apply there? No. Would I go there? No. :):)

I am a 1530 SAT, and when I tell people that they are like, "You are gonna get a full ride wherever you want," but based on my experiences, this is a common myth. Even in mediocre schools in Texas the scholarships are unimpressive, and I have very strong stats.

does anyone know if any of the following schools give full rides or close to full rides? thanks.
virginia tech
pratt institute
syracuse univ.
cornell
univ. of md college park

S did not get much money offered last year to VT. Maybe this year they will be generous. That's the only one I can speak for.

I got one to UW-Madison through the Posse foundation..I start in the Fall.

Cornell doesn't give full rides for MERIT, but if you have a low enough family income, it may amount to a full ride anyway.
