It would be difficult to calculate. I usually do most of my studying at critical times. I would have to say though that averaged out I study less than an hour a day.

Will most likely graduate with honors.
polisci, not engineering or anything.

As many as you need to get the grade you want

In theory, 1 unit of courses is supposed to correspond to 3 hours per week of work (total, including class time and out of class time). So 15 units of courses is supposed to correspond to 45 hours per week of work.

However, actual workload per unit varies greatly between courses, with some courses being much lighter than 3 hours per week per unit, and others being somewhat heavier. Courses with labs, studio, large term projects, and computer programming tend to be among the heavy ones. PE 11 and 12 are probably a lot more work than their units indicate.

I think:

For me, it’s about 4 hours per weekday outside of class and 10 hours each weekend day, for a total of around 40 hours a week (16 unit schedule). Added to around 20 hours per week of class = 60 hours per week. Added to research = very little free time, haha.

But I mean, it’s all about the grade you want, as Liquidus pointed out. I could probably decrease the 60 hours per week to around 15 hours per week and still do quite well in my classes. The purpose of the additional 45 hours is largely to prevent the chance of an A-.
