How many Ivy League Schools did you apply to?

4 (in order of preference)
Brown
Cornell
Penn
Harvard

Just 2 - Penn and Brown.

^^ millancad, why do you want to withdraw?!

wow a lot of Brown applicants!

Just Harvard and Penn for me.

Whoa. I didn’t realize that people on CC didn’t apply to all of them.

I applied to 6
Penn
Brown
Columbia
Dartmouth
Brown
Princeton

Yale (accepted!)
Harvard
Princeton
Columbia

I was going to apply to all of them except Dartmouth, but once I got into Yale I withdrew everything I wasn’t reeeeeeeally close to finishing (hence the other three).

Yea it looks like I’m the only one so far that has applied to all 8. I’m sure there’s more on this site. They just haven’t posted in this thread.

Columbia (deferred), Princeton, Brown, Yale, Penn, Cornell

I feel as though I should have applied to Harvard and Dartmouth too.

WAS gonna apply to 3

Cornell ED
Princeton
Penn

well guess what, I got in  so I only ended up applying to 1

I still stand by my opinion that anyone who applies to every single Ivy is clueless.

Or has ~600 dollars that they can just blow on whatever.

I disagree. Is any Ivy League truly so terrible in a field of academia that a student wouldn’t consider going there to pursue that field? Is it not possible that a student simply ain’t that picky about size, weather, etc.?

only a couple so far have applied to Columbia! This surprises me!

Why apply to all of the Ivies if they’re truly not that picky?

^ Because at the very least, an Ivy provides a top education. They may not be picky about size and weather but they might be picky about quality of education.

Dartmouth ED Deferred
Yale
Columbia
Cornell
Brown

Many schools are just as strong academically and have equally impressive resources but are overlooked by the “unpicky” applicants.

None! Rice is where I’ll be, though.

Alas, enough beating around the bush. There is also the obvious criterion of prestige, a criterion that many detest but is nevertheless important in various situations. Not many schools outside of the Ivy League have this.
