Hey yall! Since there’s no plain “IVY LEAGUE” forum, let’s start our own thread!

yay :p

Well, okay.

I'm applying to Dartmouth and Harvard, and four other schools that apparently aren't pertinent to this thread. It's important to always keep in mind that there are many other equally great schools in the country, though.

That website that gets on the "Ads by Google" sometimes on the Ivy boards called Ivysport actually has some pretty cool clothes. I don't know how available they are in other places, but if I enroll in either Dartmouth or Harvard in April, I'll probably buy something from there.

woohoo! Princeton (ED), Yale, and Penn here. I visited Ivysport and actually got my computer background from there. It's really cool. If I get into P'ton, I'll definitely be purchasing some merchandise off there.

Oh, and let the record show that this wasn't necessarily created to be elitist. It stemmed from a thread in the Harvard forum regarding the supportive nature regarding the Ivy League schools and their students. However, I do agree that some other great schools are excluded (e.g. Stanford, MIT, Caltech, etc.) that should be included as well.

I'm applying to Penn ED, Columbia and Princeton if I feel like wasting my money lol. I think the reason you can't post in the Ivy League forum is because there would be 32 threads of this Ivy vs this Ivy. It seems that some exist anyway (Penn vs Dartmouth thread).

Here's a brief proposed timeline for me.

December 10th, 3 pm. Chocoman gets into UPenn.
December 10th, 3:30 pm. Chocoman orders UPenn sweatshirt.

December 14-15th. Chocoman receives UPenn sweatshirt, wears it constantly.

I'm applying Harvard (EA), Yale + Cornell. Part of me wishes I would have applied to more Ivies, the more I find out about Princeton + Penn, the better they sound. Still, only so many essays can be written before my head explodes.

What are the big Ivy league rivalries? Harvard/Yale of course, but beyond that I'm not sure.

Princeton rocks. Oh, and P'ton and Penn have a pretty big basketball rivalry. It apparently stems from this really big game many years ago. It's kind of cool. But it's nothing compared to any of the major college rivalries or even Harvard/Yale.

Yale, Penn, Brown, maybe Columbia

penn (ED), pton, yale, hahhvahd

Well, Penn vs. Dartmouth threads tend to cause quite a stir. I guess that's kind of like a CC rivalry. Probably because they're as opposite as you can get in size and location in the Ivy League, and people who love one school probably dislike the other school a great deal.

Hey everyone! I'm Yale (EA), Princeton, Dartmouth, Harvard (prolly in that order too).

pton rules :-)

pton, harvard, yale, colum, penn, corn

harvard/cornell rivalry in hockey...not really, its kinda one sided. it stemmed from harvard tying a chicken (to make fun of the ag school) to the goal post, and cornell retaliated with throwing fish...harvard has stopped with the chicken, but the fish tradition has not). before the game, tons of "harvard sucks" tshirt are sold, but i doubt harvard really cares.

haha...sorry to everyone i offended! no, i definitely did not intend for this to be an elitist thread or to exclude other great schools (i won't name any for fear that i may leave some out, but i'm sure everyone knows what i'm talking about)...
if i could right now, i'd change the name of this thread...anyway...anyone from any school (any school is great to someone who loves it!) is welcome to post...and i apologize again if i have offended anyone :)
as for me, i'm harvard ea, but a lover of all ivy league and top tier schools! (i'd apply to 50 if it weren't so impractical...lol!)

oh, and one more thing: i started this thread to generate camaraderie (hehe...can't spell...please laugh) amongst all of us...we're all in this process of subjective admissions, and i thought it'd be wonderful to have a support group!

justforgetme...there's still time to apply to all the ivies (rd), i think

harvard (ea) but w/out hopes...

wow, legendofmax, no Princeton. perhaps that orange bubble wasn't so appealing after all. geez, and i thought you were all hardcore and stuff...;)

and a princetonian became penn's new president .. and she's a WOMAN =D 2nd one!!

score one for the underdogs! woohoo!

yale EA here!
Nandini, what happened to the confidence bubble? I worry about you.
::hugs for all of you::
HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING! Be safe!
