How many kids pay attention to politcs in your school?

I'm voting for John McCain. Not because I like him, but because I don't have a choice.

@classic3020 you always have a choice, If you don't think he is the best man for the job (of the available choices that ;) you shouldn't vote for him.

OMG that Huey Long joke had me going.

Yeah I'm in SoCal and although I don't think Obama himself tries to make himself look "cool" without showing up when issues are discussed, most of the kids I know do fall behind him. It hurts me so much for the below reasons.

It creates a paradox for me cause I'm black and a conservative-leaning moderate (moderate = double-dipper). I have the luxury of taking on the double standard of voting for a black candidate that I do like but only cause he's black. Luckily, I fight on knowing this kids will be mopping my executive office floors at Goldman Sachs when I get older unless they wise up.

I like McCain's past and his plans for the future, if he lives long enough. Sorry Barack, your time to put that buzzword "change" into effect will come.

If I were legal, McCain '08 for me. I'm volunteering during this summer for him.

OK, so our choices are basically Obama, Clinton, and McCain at this point. I HATE Hillary with a fiery passion, and I don't particularly like Barack that much either. McCain has some good aspects (immigration, the economy) and some that I don't really know about either way (the war). So I'm going with him. Obama and Hillary were not ever considered choices.

highlander12- Who did you contact to volunteer for McCain? I've done volunteering for governor's elections before but never presidential. I've heard it gets pretty intense.

i think Obama has become a cult actually. i like him, but i wish i could be sure that he is qualified enough.
I heard on NPR that when he was at a rally, and turned away to sneeze, the crowd APPLAUDED. wow. that was really funny, but maybe the hero worship is going too far????

my school newspaper polled kids on Super Tuesday adn Obama got 58%. Hillary got 11 %. McCain 10%. really interesting, as most of the ppl at my school come from white conservative Republican families.

I have so much respect for McCain as a person and as a politician, however I simply could not vote for him because he wants to stay in Iraq. I cannot bear to see us in that country for any longer, and we need to start a phased withdrawl as soon as possible since Congress failed at doing so.

I personally love Obama- I voted for him in the primary. Not only is he an inspiration and very articulate, but also I agree with his whole platform. People believe that he isn't qualified enough, but look at Bush. He was plenty qualified, and that didn't do us any good. And hey, Buchanen was known as Mr. Government before he was elected president and led us into civil war. He was followed by Lincoln, who Obama was slightly more experienced than.

I adore Obama. I'm happy that he's got such a following, I just hope it's for the right reasons.

I'm a major part of Obama's campaign staff, and obviously as such I support him to the end of time. He is the most qualified, the most honest, and most brilliant and most effective person for US president.

His economic policies are genius. His take on health care avoids the unrealistic idealism of Hillary's, and instead takes a realpolitik look at it. His foreign policy is unrivaled by any but Joe Biden, who might become Vice President.

Simply put, his policies will lead this country away from the coming recession, and onto a new road of prosperity.

Over fifty percent of my school is involved in politics. We are almost all liberal, and a lot agree with socialism (including me.) There is even a club!! It is one of the only things i like about my school...

Obama basically equals Hillary, and the two of them honestly won't be that different from McCain once all the checks and balances happen out.

Does he walk on water too?

And they say the Obama phenomena borders on cult worship!

^ well said, well said.

how, exactly, are his policies "genius" ?? care to elaborate on his "take on health care" ??

There are about three people I've ever heard of that had what I would consider perfect economic policies. Barack Obama is not one of them.

In my AP Gov class, we've been talking about the elections for so long that every time someone brings it up, we spend the entire period debating. xD Most of the people are going for Obama with a few Hilary fans. I do find it annoying how some people are just voting for someone because they're a woman or because of their race. I think it's stupid. My mom tried to buy my vote for $40. xD She wants Hilary to win and when I asked why, she said it was about time a woman became president. Psht. Like I'm going to vote for someone just because they're the same gender as me.

Well, I'll admit it; I'm voting for John McCain because his age (72) is divisible by 9.

But don't attack me for voting for him for unsubstantial reasons; mine are just as valid as anyone elses. Don't marginalize me! ;)

^ are you serious ?? LOL

^ No. It was just a poor attempt at sarcasm. I'm really voting for McCain because he's a white male...

I kid. I kid. :)

Not many at my school. There are a few who like Barrakc Obama because they want "change". When asked why they like Obama "ughhhh he's young and ughhhh gonna change things". None of them really have an understanding of the issues they are just attracted by slogans.

can Obama make change for my $20?
