How many MT and Acting students does Webster

accept each year?

Hi Newmom1: My daughter is a junior MT at Webster. What i do know is that Webster has not operated using a wait-list, they simply offer a spot to the 30-ish (guess on my part) kids that they feel would be a good fit. I think typically the yield is they about 20 (10 MT’s and 10 Acting BFA’s). The current senior class fits that pretty well and the current Junior class started that way too. The current freshman and sophomores have larger classes as a lot less took offers elsewhere, which i believe surprised everyone. I don’t really know what they are planning this year at all, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they accepted less to make up for 2 larger underclassmen groups that are already there. Lastly, i would say that all the folks at Webster are very friendly and will readily answer questions. If you really want to know specifics i would just call them.

Does anyone know when and how we will be notified for acceptances/rejections?

We were told the end of March.

My daughters online portal says she is at the Applaud stage…does anyone know what word they use to update if they are accepted or rejected??

@nordeal where do you find the online portal?

Word on the street is that letters could be coming out this week (S saw on the unified fb group) everyone keep checking your mail and keep in touch!

they sent me a letter way back after she applied to activate her account. It might have been and email. anyway…it gave her a username and we set up a password at www.webster.edu/checkstatus . I heard some were accepted today. Wondering if it was by mail or online.

From what I can tell @Nordeal most were done email. Unfortunately for us it was a no. Not to scare anyone, it was mentioned in her email that they are taking 1/2 of what they did last year because of the huge number of Freshman that accepted last year. Sending the best thoughts to everyone waiting!!!

NAtlanta did you actually get an email NO or did you just not hear a YES? There was only one YES added here to our acceptance list.

@quinoamom206 - info.webster.edu - we got an email a while ago with login instructions - you can check admission status, documents rec’d etc. (general Univ. acceptance)

Portal gives no info. I already checked.

We haven’t gotten any email either…

So sorry NAtlantastudio! Thank you for letting me know. We haven’t received anything. I don’t know what to say to those of you who can not get into portal? Maybe touch base with admissions? It seems all schools are taking less and had record numbers audition. It’s crazy!!

Odd, I called today and they said nothing would go out until next week and that it would come snail mail.

We got a NO from the department head. My S just sent him an email and he responded with the bad news. :frowning:

@Ikemom, we were the same. D had sent an email and Lara responded very nicely letting her know she would not be getting an acceptance letter. It was the nicest of any of the the “no” letters she has gotten Very personal and very respectful.

Does anyone know if all acceptances have gone out?

NAtlantaStudio if you don’t mind my asking, when did you send the email?

NAtlantastudio I couldn’t agree more about the rejection email from Lara. My S was very disappointed and sad but the message he got was so kind and thoughtful that it took some of the sting out. Newmom1 we go our message yesterday afternoon. S was told the official letters would go out April 1st but they had just had a meeting and it was determined that S was not accepted.

We actually sent the email on Tuesday morning before their group had met. Its funny she just got another email that looks more like a form email so i guess they are sending out a mass email of rejections possibly. It was a bit strange to get a 2nd email that was more form after getting the original personal email.
