<p>Reasons for applying early though would probably be to make the best impression on the Harvard admission staff and to show enthusiasm and devotion to the school. Athletic recruits may also play a role. However, I think that this same idea can be had by applying within the first week of December as well, as I hope to do.</p>
<p>I didn’t. The date you submit does not help you or hurt you in the least. I am absolutely swamped with work and don’t have the time to perfect my essays at the moment, so I am going to submit Dec ~28, by which point I will have had more than a week off to focus on my app. If your app can benefit from extra time, take it.</p>
