Does anyone know the stats for OSS applications out of the 21500 the Daily Tar heel reported the Admissions office received this year?
Have a friend who is an anxious OS parent wondering on the chances. I figure that totally depends on how many of the 21500 are OSS....since they are vying for the 18% of open spots for OSS out of the 3500. Anyone else have input?

Based on Fall 2006, when applications numbered ~19,700, about 55% of those were OOS.

So, for 21,500 applications, we're looking at 11,800 OOS (+/-.) From past data, non-alum OOS gets accepted at 20% while alum OOS is almost double at 39%.

Hmmm...Didn't realize that legacy was that valuable. BTW what is the expected enrollment for next year's freshman class? How many of the 21,500 applicants will be accepted/enroll? 82% of freshman class must be North Carolinians, right??
