Zero, though taking subject tests is recommended.

sfgiants where have you been lately, haven't seen you on the forums

...They are recommended? Is 2 good? or should i take 3?

Taking as many as possible and scoring as high as possible is the best. I would say take two and if the score is satifying, send the score to USC and take another one.

My S took 5, but as was said you don't have to take any. Whatever you take, if you send any SAT scores, the schools will see all your SATI & II scores. If you do well, it's good to take at least one in an engilsh/social studies/history & one in math/science. My S took MathI, MathII, history, physics & bio.

I've had a lot more stuff going on recently, not as much time to browse the forums.

Since UC's require 2, it seems like that's what most people in CA take (unless one is not good so they take a third!

S didn't take any SAT Subject tests and only submitted the ACT and was admitted.

I highly suggest taking sat 2's...they only help...and anything in the 700's is a definate boost
