<p>stats were less than what's deemed top-tier here that got into prestigious schools? This is a time where a lot of people who want to apply to "good" are reluctant and even intimidated by their "competition". So, let this thread serve as means of motivation... that is, if there are any stories.</p>

<p>I'm not sure what you count as top-tier, but I know a kid who got into Columbia with a 3.5, low 700s on the SATs, doing practically nothing with his time.
And he was asian, a great ORM, to top it off.</p>
