They say to send at least one. So is it better to send more than one? How many did you guys send? Ive had one sent and am trying to decide if I should send this other one that I have ready to put in the mail, but Ive heard its not alway good to send in more than the required amount.

When dad and I went to the info session on campus they told us not to send more than the required number.

I sent one... but it was a good one. I've known this teacher for four years and so she was able to write a lot.

If you feel like you need a second, then send a second. But if one will cover what you need it to cover then I wouldn't recommend it. Seriously-- sometimes when it comes to applications, less is more.

If the second teacher recommendation is as good as the first one, then by all means, send it. However, if it's not as good as the first one, I would recommend you not to. Like kathryn07 said, when I went to the On-Campus Day, they told us not to send more than one unless all of the recs will be equally fantastic.

Personally, I just sent one, the one that I know will be the best. Think of it as an average. They'll take the average of all the recs. Let's say it's from a scale of 1-10. If you already have a rec that is a 9, you don't want to send in a 5 one. That'll bring the average from a 9 to a 7.

I sent two... they really don't like that, especially since I chose one from math, and the other from science. They prefer only one rec, but if you send two, they want them to be from opposite kinds of teachers, like English & math, or science & history

alright. thanks guys. ill stick with one

I sent two and I got in. One was from a german teacher while the other was a math teacher. I think you should be fine if you do something like breadandbutter said.

im at Rice now and I sent 5... so i dont think it matters

oneeeeeeeeee

Well you have your counselor and teacher...so that's two min for anyone.

well too late. i sent three teachers recs and one counselor.

One from math/science teacher. One from someone who knows you well, like maybe a coach or a class that you really enjoy. And one from your college counselor!

madamebovary, I did the same thing! I guess we'll see in February how everything works out...

seriously.. worst come to worst, they will throw ur other recs away and consider one opf them... honestly, ull be fine.. more is always better than less

I sent in 4 teacheer recs and 1 counselor.. and got in and am at Rice now... so, it didnt seem to hurt me
