How many times can you call Admissions?

I am not getting satifactory answers to my questions regarding application processing. How many times can you call back to the office before you are a nuisance and could that negatively impact their decision to admit a student?

why would you want to call them?

There’s no absolute answer to “how many calls…” You should call if you see something that is missing (after a reasonable amount of processing time) or incorrect.

After looking at your other post, where you called admissions this week and they updated your file to acknowledge the receipt of your HS transcript on October 13, I’d say calling again is unnecessary. They have all of your components and you cannot speed up the process at this point. Could it affect your admissions process? Probably not, but do you really want to be a test case? ;)

LOL - no don’t want to be a test case - but all the counselers at our HS have said that applications in BEFORE 10/1 have a huge advantage over those submitted later.

DD worked hard to get all her materials into the college well before that date and if a processing error has her in the queue as completed on the 13th - could make the difference.

Perhaps your daughter should call from now on.

Sorry, wasn’t clear - she has done the calling

or she could e-mail. I find e-mail less annoying than phone calls. If you are just waiting on a decision I wouldn’t bother them at this point though.

She should send an email to Admissions with questions you feel are not getting answered and politely request a reply.
Remember thousands of applications are being processed.
Since the deadline dates have past, your urgency may seem too over the top.
Try a calm and patient tone in the email.
Good luck.

Is the 10/1 some sort of official deadline for priority or early applications, or is it just a rule of thumb for your hs counselors? If it’s the latter, I can’t see the few days making THAT much of a difference. It’s not like her stuff got in Nov. 15th!
