I'm wondering if I should take my SAT math 2 subject test the THIRD time? I don't know why I'm not getting this right.. and I'm supposed to be good at math! I scored 580 the first time (no prep, nervous, distraction etc not trying to excuse this bad score..) and 700 in the october sitting. Do you think I should take it the third time in hopes of a 750? I'm applying to the ivies so obviously my scores will have to be perfect (or close). I'm just scared that adcoms think I have too much time on my hands. I'm also taking chinese and Lit in november.

I know someone out there has experienced this… or maybe not lol D: advice people?

bump please

I would think 3 is too many. Either you haven’t had the math necessary to do well on the test (Math 2 precalc), the structure of the test simply doesn’t work for you, or you have achieved your “true” score on the test. Either way - there are better ways to spend your time than subject tests.

ok. thanks for the advice! I guess I’ll concentrate my efforts in SAT lit and chinese then.

Get the Barron’s book and do the practice test. If you do get 650+ from that book, you should be able to get 700+ in the real test. If you are going to take other SAT2 at the same time, it may worth to give it another trial on Math2 as the cost is low.
