How many times can you take the SAT and the ACT? My daughter is entering her junior year of high school and is an average student…,and not a good test taker. Our thoughts are to take both blind…see which she performs better on, than take prep classes for that specific one. What are your thoughts?
Has she taken the PSAT, if thats a test you want to go blind on then that’s where youf like to see where you stand, you can take them realistically I think up to 4 times junior year, and like 2 time senior year, mainly because when they r schedule, their is no limit .
How many times can one take them? Infinite. OK, not that many, but one can take them every test date before HS graduation. How many times should one take? IMO, no more than 3. If after taking and retaking and prep, one still has yet to achieve the target score, it’s unlikely to improve the 4th time.
Do colleges know how many times you take them?
If they require all scores, they certainly do. Even if they don’t there’s an opportunity cost with taking so many tests, including less time to spend on other important aspects of the application,
You can get a prep book and save the money and stress of taking it blind the first time. You will probably buy the prep book anyway. Just gave her take a practice test and score it.
As many as you want! However, I think the reasonable number is 2-3x.
