how many universities do/did you apply for?

Ya just so i don't regret it later, i'm probably applying to anyone that i like

ED to Wake Forest

I applied to all of the UC's (except Santa Cruz) as well as Tulane. I did this as a transfer student, so my process is a bit different then most of yours will be.

Looking back I wish I had also applied to Stanford and Cornell, but otherwise I'm very content with UCLA.

You guys are nuts...I only applied to 5 (2 public, 3 private). Commonapp for the privates

I'm going to ask a question that might be a little off the track. How do you guys feel about giving 7 - 10 teacher's recommendation forms for your top 2 teachers to fill out? Sometimes, I think they might feel inundated.

If you are on limited finds its even MORE important to apply to more schools so you can negotiate financial aid packages. A friend of mine who is under financial pressure through out an application to Cornell at the last minute, well it turns out they gave him a ton more aid than the other schools he got into, so he went.

I don't think you should apply to more Ivies, if I remember your stats correctly. But I do think you need to apply to more matches/ semi-reaches. Our Valedictorian ended up at his safe-match school because he only applied to five schools. He really regretted not applying to more places. I transferred becausewhat I didnt apply to a couple places I should have initially. You hear these stories every day.

I think you are applying to Penn, OSU, Case. Well, that is a super reach and two super safeties, leaving a lot of risk with only two schools in the middle. If you were managing a hedge fund you'd go out of business.

Are you talking to me? I'm not applying to any of those schools lol :p And my safety is very safe and affordable so I don't need to add anything. I like all my schools pretty equally in fact. I think having dream schools is dumb. I'd go to my safety just as quick as I would to my reach.

Legend shouldn't you just get copies of the same letter? I mean don't your teachers type the letters?

Let's see...I applied to 9 schools, got into 8. I ended up with a lot of choices. I wanted to compare packages too. However, I ended up going not to the one that had the best...but the school I applied EA and had been absolutely in love with from the beginning.
