How many volunteer hours are recomended

I'm working for one of the Political Party campaigns for the upcoming election and I'm just starting out with my volunteer hours so I was wondering how many would I possibly need or how many is recommended that I seek?

By the end of it I shall have around an estimated 40+ hours.

Also should I do some other things to make my record in this area more diverse?

You don't need volunteer hours for college. However, if you DO need them to graduate high school (like I do), then do at least that.

You're trying to look good in the wrong way. Do however many hours you want to.

Ok since I enjoy it I'll do as many as I like which will most likely give me around 40.

Is it advised that applicants put down on a resume or something the number of hours that they have accumulated if it is in the hundreds? Or will it look like you are trying to show off?

On a resume, the point is to show off! Do whatever you think is appropriate.

Being arrogant and pretentious is what I'm saying, like you think you're all that. I don't want to set a negative tone on the application because that's really not who I really am in real life. I heard of adcoms not liking a really boastful admissions essay for that very reason. I'm not sure, though.

You need amout of community service hours.
