Hello, how is evreyone doing, I would like to know what is the average volunteer hours a student would have when applying to medical school?

I know some who have between 500 and 1000.
The average is probably much lower, though. If you have 100+ you should be in pretty good shape.

Quality over quantity.

It doesn't matter.

Actually, many have over 1000 volunteer hours.

wraider, you may seem to be thinking of college, however, if the OP means it by Med. Grad. School, they had better have racked up quite a large amount of volunteer hours. Medical schools are by far one of the most selective graduate schools.

im just wondering how other schools count community service hours. my school requires that you turn in hours signed, and you can only get a maximum of 10 hours a day (cause usually you'd sleep), so if it was a 1-week immersion trip, for example, you would only get up to 70 hours. How does your school do this? Do they keep track of hours for you, or do you keep a record of everything?
Also will colleges see that my hours are from 10 hours a day, as opposed to getting 24 hours a day?

You keep track of your own.

dont record the total number of volunteer hours...looks like you're only doing it for the recognition......make sure a few of your volunteer activities show you using a few of your talents to help out too....nothing screams resume whore like random volunteer work
